Lost Cemetery

N half of NE quarter of Section 21, Township 12S, Range 23E

A housing division is located where this lost cemetery was, in what was once Monticello Township. The only proof of its existence I found is mentioned in a deed. It is thought to have been a burial location for members of the Shawnee tribe.

Graveyard excepted from sale in the description of the property:

The North half of the North East quarter of Section Twenty-One (21) in Township Twelve (12) Range Twenty-Three (23) east of the 6th principal meridian in Kansas containing eighty acres more or less except that portion occupied by graveyard.
