Lexington Cemetery, ca. 1860s (Removed)

Lost Cemetery

SE quarter of Section 6, Township 13S, Range 22E

The Town of Lexington was defunct by the 1870s as nearby De Soto, a stop on the train, grew. But they did leave a cemetery behind as a marker of that early community. The Lexington Cemetery was removed in 1942 to construct the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant. Those buried there were disinterred and moved to De Soto Cemetery.
